It began eleven years ago as a goodwill initiative by the Society of American Florists. Today, thousands of florists in all 50 states participate.
Petal It Forward rapidly gained traction as florists found value in the premise: Hand two floral bouquets to a stranger, one for them to keep and another to give away.
In participating, not only are you brightening people’s day, but you also have the opportunity to make a positive impression for your business. It’s the kindest marketing you’ll do!
So how do you maximize Petal It Forward’s potential?
North American Wholesale Florist helps make it easy! We offer several affordable bouquet options that ship to you the week of October 11th. Order them in even numbers, and we’ll take care of the rest!
Before you share them in your community, staple your business card or slap a sticker on the bouquet sleeve that includes your shop’s information—you want to ensure that people know how to contact you! Explain the event and encourage them to Petal It Forward!
If you need a few ideas to inspire, we recommend handing bouquets to random strangers walking past your shop, residents of nursing homes, teachers in your area, or surprise customers who happen to stop in on that special day.
We know it sounds silly—spending money on bouquets just to give them away for free—but sometimes the impact that it leaves on someone is lifelong. They may become regular customers of yours, or maybe it gives them a reason to stop in and check out your store if they haven’t before. Perhaps it just makes them feel a little love in a world where sometimes we don’t feel like we’re enough or that we just aren’t doing it right.
